Random Thoughts

I have had alot going on over the last little while and it shows no sign of letting up any time soon. Honestly I don't think I'd have it any other way.

I have been to the dentist to get a root canal recently and I had to wonder why would anyone choose to do this for a living. A doctor gets the bragging rights of bringing new life into the world or saving a life from leaving this world but a dentist??? No one likes going to see them..most people myself included would just about rather do anything...I just don't get it.

I have a court date coming up for a ticket I got for an illegal right turn on red. I'm also not looking forward to this as I have never gotten a ticket (well ok parking tickets) and the last time I saw the inside of a court room was about 7 years ago when my ex had a court date for assulting a police officer. (he got off the whole thing was blown way out of proportion) I'm hoping the fact that I have not gotten a ticket before and that I have had my licence for almost 13 years gets me a "get out of jail free" card.

I have also been busy thinking about my career. I am coming upto the end of my 18 month commitment to my current role and while I still enjoy what I do and am still learning on a daily basis I feel it's time to try putting some of my other skills to work. I want to be an Assistant Team Leader. My team leader thinks I'd be a good fit for the role since she considers me to be a natural born leader...we'll see what happens. I'll have to wait until after the RRSP season is over since it will be so busy I won't really have a chance to work on that until after March 1st. I am also on a commitee at work and have been asked to write an article for the quarterly newsletter they put out. The article will be about career development and where to go from your current role....good timing lol
